The lab has specialised equipment to undertake both teaching and research related to thermal systems, including heat transfer, refrigeration and internal combustion engines.

The laboratory also has teaching equipment to understand the fundamental principles of thermodynamics, including equipment to demonstrate the principles of heat exchangers, air compression cycles and steam boiler

The transportation of conversion of energy in a heat engine and the laws of thermodynamics can be studied & verified by using our thermodynamic test rigs.
